The 2009 PGE is shaping up to be one to remember!

With the 2008 golf season winding down, planning for the March 14th and 15th event of 2009 is underway.  We are excited as things are shaping up to be an event you won’t want to miss.  With the great success of the 2008 show, we are committed to adding even more value for our exhibitors and patrons in 2009.

Our last show created quite a buzz with a record number of exhibitors, patrons, equipment, contests, raffles, fund raisers, and prize donations the positive feedback has been tremendous.  People are still talking about the thousands of dollars worth of clubs, balls, bags, golf accessories, rounds of golf and stay and play vacations we gave away in the spring. 

Joe and Leigh's - A big hit!

Joe and Leigh’s Discount Golf Shop, was a fantastic addition to the 2008 Portland Golf Expo and due to the success of the show they have already committed to coming back in 2009.  The customer feedback on Joe and Leigh’s was fantastic, so in 2009, they will have an even larger space where they can provide even more bargains!  Joe and Leigh’s continue to be one of the best golf discount shops in the country and we are obviously very excited they have chosen to return again in 2009. 

The pre-season demo day was great fun!

We also had great feedback about the p3pro swing analyzers and the presence of sales representatives from all of golf’s major brands.  What better way to check out the newest clubs than to be able to swing them in a state of the art golf simulator.  It was the perfect demo day for many golfers so you can expect to see all the newest equipment again in March of 2009.

A new web site with added value!

We have also improved the web site with a new design and we are offering online credit card processing, which should make participation more convenient for all.  Now exhibitors can reserve booths quickly and easily, and patrons can order tickets online at a discount.

Starting this fall we will be producing an e-mail newsletter to ensure our exhibitors and patrons remain informed on the upcoming event.  This will allow our exhibitors an opportunity to promote specials, and our patrons a chance to receive special promotions, Maine golf news and golf tips from PGA professional Scott Mayer.  Be sure to join our mailing list today. 

Lights!  Camera!  Action!

Another new and exciting development for the 2009 Portland Golf Expo will be the presence of television cameras.  WPXT, the CW affiliate in Portland, will be at the expo to develop a show that will promote our exhibitors.  The television crew will visit each and every booth and give that exhibitor a chance to talk about their business.  The ensuing program will be shown multiple times in the spring and provide our exhibitors the opportunity to promote golf in the great state of Maine.
